Techstars Tokyo is an acceleration program that selects 12 seed-stage startups, targeting both Japan-born startups aiming for global expansion and international startups. Each selected company receives an investment of $120,000 from a fund formed by Techstars and participates in an intensive three-month program designed to accelerate their growth.

This time, we invited Mr. Yuki Shirato, Managing Director of Techstars Tokyo, an accelerator by Techstars, one of the world's largest pre-seed investors. In addition to a presentation about the program, we held a talk session featuring Japanese entrepreneurs active on a global scale who participated in the first program, as well as guests involved in the startup ecosystem. We had an open discussion about the differences between Japanese and U.S. venture capital (VC), sharing candid insights!
